The end to scalp sunburn is just a spray away with America's #1 scalp protector.

F.A.Q.

Years of research and development have enabled us to formulate the finest and most effective scalp sun protector on the market today. Sun Splash pioneered this product over 20 years ago and to the best of our knowledge, was the first company to place a scalp sun protector on store shelves.

  • Can Scalp Screen be used as an all-over sunscreen?
  • Why is Scalp Screen labeled as a sunscreen instead of a sunblock or water-resistant instead of water proof. Has Scalp Screen changed?
  • Are suncare products that list a greater percentage of active ingredients on the label more effective or offer more sun protection than ones that list less?
  • What SPF value is recomended for kids? For adults?
  • Is Scalp Screen dermatoligist tested?
  • Whats the difference between UVA and UVB rays?
  • Absolutely, Yes. Because it was formulated with properties important for the scalp like non-greasy, fast penetrating, quick drying, and fragrance free. It's great for all over your body.
  • No, Scalp Screen has not changed and is still the original formulation. The label changes were mandated by the FDA(Food and Drug Administration) and was done to standardize all product claims made by all sun care manufacturer's. Click here to learn more about the changes.
  • No, greater amounts of some active ingredients are required to achieve the same sun protection as some with a lesser amount. What matters is the SPF value listed on the front label. A SPF 30 with 30% of active ingredients listed offers no greater protection than a SPF 30 with 20% of active ingredients.
  • Children 6 months and older should use a minimum of SPF 30. Babies under 6 months should be kept out of the sun. Adults of all skin types should use a sunscreen of an SPF 15 or higher.
  • Although not tested directly by a dermatoligist, Scalp Screen is recommended, sampled, and made available by hundreds of dermatolgists nationwide.
  • UVA rays penetrate the skin deeply and help cause skin aging and skin cancer. We are exposed to UVA rays, no matter what season or time of day. UVB rays are the main cause of sunburn while also contributing to skin aging and skin cancer. Scalp Screen is formulated to absorb both UVA and UVB rays, now to be known by the term "broad spectrum protection."
